Guys,

I'm the new MD for USSA Pro Am.

I'd like this match to be on everyone's must do list.

Probably looking a change of date from the 2nd Sunday. What are thoughts about the 3rd weekend?

What could be done to improve the match?

Is there an interest in longer par times and increased round counts?

Like everybody else, I've got elephant dung that will come up, but I will always try to arrange someone to cover the match. I know we can't build up attendance unless it takes place on a regular basis and is fun for all.

So anyway, please post your suggestions and opinions.

Thanks--Jeff

I am new to Pro Am and have been wanting to make it to this match for months!

Sunday would be great, maybe a little later in the day. I work late, late Saturday night and have to commute 2hrs, but I would be at the match every month if the match started a little later in the day. I would bring other shooters, as well. I know several guys looking for later day matches to shoot on Sundays.

I would say that you would have a better turnout on 3rd Saturday than 3rd Sunday. The third Sunday of the month is USPSA at Old Fort over at Fort Smith and a lot of folks go shoot that one. Bruce's match draws a lot of Tulsa and OKC shooters.

I'm leaning towards third Saturday because Robert has moved his USPSA match(and John and I like the Old Ft match too). What I don't know is how that conflicts with any plans Brian has for 3Gun.

I like 20 second at least par times for handgun, and 30 seconds for shotgun. Let me know if you guys want to go back to best time on all targets for shotgun.

Match time will remain at 10 unless popular opinion wants an earlier start in the hot weather(and I can get a key...).

Do the shotgun guys need a lunch break, or do you guys prefer to shoot right after?

We will keep the main start at 10, but if you guys want to run a late squad, you would be more than welcome...

also I was under the impression 3-gun was moving permanently but i am probably mistaken.
Sean, I think it may be a bit of a moving target right now....

I just want to be involved in ProAm. Thanks for the consideration and I will try and make it by sign up regardless. I would prefer to see it stay on Sunday so I can at least have a chance to shoot it. I can never shott Steel Challenge due to all Saturday matches.

I have been wanting to shoot more of these but they seem to have been an on again off again kind of thing here lately. I am looking forward to more consistency. Jeff I am glad to hear you are taking this on.

As far as day, I like it on the 2nd Sunday , however the 3rd Sunday would work too.

Steel challenge at ussa is 1st sunday and steel challenge at oil capitol is 4th sunday

I would love it if pro-am was on any saturday. But now I'm all kinds of confused about everyone moving all the matches around. Is everything still up in the air with 3 gun and USPSA or have decisions on the days been made?

In talking about the third Saturday, you mentioned that "Robert" is moving his USPSA match - do you mean Robert from ATA? If so this is the first I've heard he was moving it.

Yes, ATA has moved their USPSA match to the 2nd Saturday to be run concurrently with their Steel Challenge match.

Michael, the USSA USPSA match is still on the 4th Saturday, I'm not sure what Brian has decided about the USSA 3Gun match, but I'll ask him tomorrow.

Me too!!! How about we get lights put in and we shoot in the afternoon.

I used to shoot this match pretty regularly but I can't shoot on Sundays much. Can't please everyone so I guess you can figure out which day works best and run with it. I do love to shoot some steel.

I will confirm it with USSA tomorrow, but my plan is to have this match on the third Saturday of each month.

I'm going to bump up the round count and par times a bit. Plan on 150 rounds+/- and par times around 25 seconds.

We'll continue with 30 second shotgun par times unless feedback from those who actually shoot tells me different.

I really want this to be a fun match with a lot of shooters...
