USPSA @ USSA 3/22

USSA was a very nice facility, and I was looking forward to the day of shooting. I was the fifth man up at our stage when the match was cancelled, before I could even fire one round down range, a very disappointing and aggravating end to the day. Rob, Jerry and Kelly did a great job setting us up areas to engage with a variety of scenarios, and were very accommodating to all of us when the match was cancelled.

Whether wrong lanes were used or not, some one from management should have stepped up and been able to place the two thirty minute shooters into another lane that was not being used. This would have kept the match going, gave the other shooters a place to play and kept everyone happy. A very simple solution to a problem that could have been avoided, hopefully management learns from this debacle and solves the simple problems without creating a slew of additional problems.

As for everyone that drove several hours to and from the match, I feel your pain. To spend that much time on the road and get the boot for your trouble is infuriating to say the least.

I had the Cajun Meatloaf at McNellie's.

There was extra gravy....mmmmmmm

I spoke with the two members. They told me all three guys at the front desk told them to use a match bay. The match was to move because it was set up on the wrong bays.

After everything was cancelled the two members said they were willing to move bays and didn't want to make it a big deal. The three employees at the front desk told them to use the bay USPSA was set up on.

Hey drunky..

I have not yet drove all the way to Tulsa to shoot a match and now it looks like I never will. Doesn't sound like there is anyone who works at USSA on the weekend who can make qualified decisions. If I were a dues paying member and shooting the match only to have it cancelled, moved, or whatever they are calling it, I'd be looking for another range.

Seems like the problem could have been handled much better if those in charge of the facilities had just taken the time to come down to the bays and sort things out.

No doubt things could have been handled better.

The USSA facilities are so great that nothing compares in this part of the country, so it's impossible to just go find another range.

I do think David and Karen have great intentions. I really hope that they turn USSA around.

It was a bad day at the range for sure.

I'll miss USPSA at USSA. But, I'm going to learn to properly load a shotgun and shoot at OKC GC and I'm looking forward to it.

Those random thoughts confirm my wine intake.
