From the match director:
Looks like it's that time again. Expect 8 stages, at least 175 rounds. Sign up will start around 8:40 Saturday morning and the match should start shortly after 9:00.
Match setup will begin around 3:00 on Friday afternoon and any and all help would be greatly appreciated!

A little birdie told me that Ponca would be sporting a bunch of new steel targets, ought to make for some really fun and interesting stages. Just wish it was a different day than our steel challenge natch, I'd love to make one of these again!

Not this match that I'm aware of, but down the road, yes, and that is going to be a short road to travel on.

Looked at a pile of steel today that said "weld me".
I just finished welding up 3 poppers , 6 target stands, and 4 steel challenge plates that some jackhole shot up with a center fire rifle on our pistol bays.

Just checking out their "firepower" I guess. 6 hours of my volunteer time + fuel and drive time. Hope we catch someone doing this........

I feel your pain Dennis, there is always some pin head who has to destroy something. It's always dangerous when suppliers put a lot of green tip ammo on sale! I hope you do catch them! Too bad you can't hang them at the gate to warn others what will happen for destroying range property!

We have signs, and 99.9% of the folks are the greatest members ever. One or two are sure creating problems.

Bad thing is most guys don't ever shoot steel and have no idea they are ruining it because they are uneducated about steel and the different ammo types. I know I wasn't until I started competitive shooting. I ruined a piece of my own steel once.

Doesn't have to be centerfire rifle either. My little brother and my nephews were nice enough to show me that .17 HMR will screw up steel plates.

The main issue is that they are in the Rimfire rifle or centerfire pistol ranges that are well marked, shooting centerfire rifle.
And yeah, the 17hmr and now the new 17 Hornady magnum will certainty mess up mild steel.

Sounds like the whip is cracking. Me and mine don't recognize commercial holidays. VD is designed to guilt guys into getting their money.
