USPSA OKCGC Jan 5, 2012

With the 9 you could shoot production div. which will limit the number of rounds to 10 in each mag.
The 40 can shoot in production as well but will play better in limited div. where you can fill the mags up full.

The 9mm can play in limited as well but you'll be subjected to "minor" power factor scoring which means any hits other than "a" zone hits are less points than the "major" power factor shooters.

So, 10 rounds per mag means you need more mags

I was afraid this might be a little too much information for zombiegirl since it is her first ever match.

Just come and shoot limited (with either gun) and have fun.

You guys crack me up!!
Thanks for the help!! I've got all week to hopefully get my stuff together. I don't have anything going on Saturday yet so I'm really hoping to be there!!

I'm trying to get hubby to go, but he's not much into it! :) So probably just ME zombiegirl AKA Jamie!!

HAHA!! Just read the rest of that!!

my advice is whichever gun you choose, shoot limited div. & don't worry about your score.....Fill the mags up & have fun.
Learn the rules & watch the other shooters & by all means ask questions.

Dead on advice. This will be my 3rd match and I shoot limited minor with my Glock 17 just for fun. Maybe one of these days I'll get competitive enough to do something different, but right now it's fun to just go out shooting with the group.

I vote for the 40 cal you will have more fun and not have to worry about your hits as much!

I still haven't found any. This will be the last match for me for a while until some comes up. I'm going to order up 1K from Red River Ammo tonight when I get home from work instead of buying a reloading setup with my christmas cash but they say "Due to increased sales demand, please allow 3-5 weeks for delivery of this product." So no more pistol shooting for me till it comes in, unless I do a Steel Challange with rimfire.

I hope this isn't going to be the general theme for many shooters, it's really starting to irritate me that people are buying up all the ammo and storing it in their closets for the revolution that's never going to happen, while people who actually want to shoot are out.

Does anyone know if the great ammo shortage of 08 & 09 had any affect of shooter turnout at these matches? I wouldn't know, I didn't start shooting matches until late 2010, I was storing up ammo for the coming revolution. :)

I hadn't thought about doing that. Since this will be my first USPSA match I may do that with my new Glock 34. I have been shooting IDPA in SSP with a Ruger P95DC.

It did in some cases, and I'm one that it effected. Had to resort to jacketed HP rounds that had been in reserve for SD.
Lesson learned, so there is a 6 month to a year of reloading supplies in the cabinet.
Primers may be the only issue.

Also, I do these for a slightly different reason than most people. I shoot with the same weapon I use for on-duty because these IPSA matches are like getting extra practice clearing houses. I want to be practiced up with the weapon that's most important to me. :)

I will have a bunch of these baby blue ribbons at the registration desk Saturday. Let's show Matt and his family our support by wearing these during this match.

There will also be a donation bucket if you didn't get a chance to send money already and still wish to

Shoot the 9mm and load to max. This will afford you the opportunity to shoot more and reload less. You can focus on shooting and less on the reloading mechanism. There is one shooter who comes out that shoots lim minor and routinely whips our butts. When you start the key is to get A's and speed later.

Just don't watch me because you will learn bad habits. There will be a new shooter briefing that will cover all the safety rules you need to know before we get started.

"Got .40's". Just say'n . I was the one that bought the last ones nobody wanted on the shelf. Ha You know. Until things calm down and get back to normal, whatever that is.
