USPSA OKCGC Jan 5, 2012

I order to keep the USPSA scores database from flipping out we will signin match day as normal.

Then if you choose to honor Logan please do so on your scoresheet. Either format will be fine:

Greg "Logan" Goode

Or

Logan "Greg" Rigsby

Never done this but very interested. I have no idea where to even start though. I've been trying to go for awhile and watch ya'll, but haven't had time. I may try and come and bring both my 9mm & 40, not sure what to shoot though?? My 9mm is a GLock 34, and 40 is an M&P Pro (which would be better?) Is there a website I can go to and see the rules (one you recommend)?

This is THE website. Start here and others will be along shortly to give more advice but the best way to learn is doing it. Reading the rule book will just confuse you

Bring whichever one points naturally for you. Bring all your magazines, a holster, about 200 rounds of ammo and shoes that are comfortable for lots of standing and have good traction. The most important thing to bring is a sense of humor.

Thanks!! Sounds fun and I'm hoping I can attend one of these events in the near future preferably this weekend **crossing fingers**!!

Sorry....another question :)
At these events am I able to pick up my brass? We reload and was just wondering if that was ok or even appropriate? Not going to take more than what's mine. Thanks in advance!

Yes but we usually pick it up after all stages are complete, broken down and put away. It would slow things down if we all did it before the next shootet.

Thanks Jared--Makes sense! I have no idea how this stuff works.
I don't mind helping helping set up or taking down if ya'll need help.

Of course, with the exception of Accurate Ron, who catches all of his brass in the air with his strong hand while shooting the entire course of fire with his other strong hand.

I'm on my 3rd USPSA match, love them, but still don't totally get the scoring. A hits are good, D hits are bad, bring five mags(and a way to carry four) for the Glock or 3 for the M&P(and a way to carry 2). You will have a ball...
Misses are worser.

I've yet to run an entire match without one.

WOW!! He catches them in the air.....I'm impressed already!! Why the difference in mags for the Glock & S&W? I need to look and see what A hits and D hits are lol!!

With the 9 you could shoot production div. which will limit the number of rounds to 10 in each mag.
The 40 can shoot in production as well but will play better in limited div. where you can fill the mags up full.

The 9mm can play in limited as well but you'll be subjected to "minor" power factor scoring which means any hits other than "a" zone hits are less points than the "major" power factor shooters.

So, 10 rounds per mag means you need more mags ;)
