USPSA @ OKC Gun Club Saturday December 1st

Stages are set folks. Run and gun mixed with some tight technical stuff. Weather will be awesome and the shooting will match.

I've got some F.O. rod for my Dawson sights. I haven't the foggiest clue if they are the same, but if so they are available.

The green and red rods I have are the 0.04" variety. I will throw them in the bag just holler in the am if you need em.

Had a blast until the whole jam causing me to cut the elephant dung out of hand thing happened. Ended up having to get 4 stitches on that thing.

Can't wait until the match next month! Big thanks to all the boomer shooter crowd for answering all my questions and the first aid. Haha. You're a good group.

You were kickin ass Adam. Hate that the dq happened. Heal up and get back out there with us.

Mitch you were a soldier too for hanging with the rest of us.

Thanks to Uncle Kurt for RO'n and to the rest of the squad. Had a blast as usual.

Now who was that shooter running the purple holster?

Your hand was pretty ****ed up but you took it like a champ.

I think our squad was cursed. Two DQs and everyone's gear was taking a dump. My shooting was a total shitshow today but still had a good time.

E: I think Adam had it the worst. His gear broke, he got DQ'd, and then needed stitches.

Fun match. Shot with an awesome squad, everybody working to keep it moving.

How about that weather :)

I can never start a new hobby without at least one trip to the ER. It's my curse.... I have a titanium plate on my collar bone from mountain biking, scars on my legs from being attacked by dogs while road biking, and now this. lol

The ironic thing is if I would have just bought the expensive ammo instead of that garbage reload, I still would have come out cheaper than a trip to the er. AND I would have been able to finish. lol

I'm good though. I had a blast and will be there next month! I learned a couple very valuable lessons today. 1) Take the POS mag extensions off and just run the standard caps because I didn't need the extra bullets. 2) Buy good ammo for competitions 3) When Kurt gives you advice on clearing a jam, make him do it. lol :)

I've worked nights for so long I can't be out in the sun long without being burned. So of course I also got a pretty good sun burn on my arms and neck. Pretty good for December. :D

Sorry to hear Adam, get well soon for the first match...next year.
We had one DQ, young Man and I can't remember his name. My Bad.
But our squad took turns telling him stories how we all been there.
Then Mitch H. lost his darn monkey. He really had a monkey, under his hat.
You would have thought people were looking for brass looking for his monkey.
Had to clear the stage from monkey hunters so shooters could shoot,.
Then, on the last stage with my last chance to shoot a stage without a "mike" or "no shoot" or Procedural,
I am shooting the last target on our last stage which is stage 1 and I...fall, kind of fall, fly while shooting the very last target.
Seems I shot 2 shots outside the shooting area, landed on my butt, however my head hurts????
Glad I don't need stiches like Adam.
Crazy fun, love it and can't wait to do it again.
Later.

Glock 17. The reloads weren't shaped right or something goofy like that. The slide would go almost all the way forward, but the bullet would get stuck and I couldn't clear it with a normal overhand. Kurt showed me how to hold the slide with my left hand and hit the back strap with my right. I ended up having to hit it so hard that when the bullet came out the slide jammed into the web of my hand and would a pretty good gash in it. This over course led to my gun flying out of my hand and got DQ'd. Luckily I had dropped the mag when clearing the jam, so it was just an empty gun falling. :O

It was the worst jam I've ever had by far. Using a tap/rack/bang is enough, but this things were really jammed in there. I would have certainly called it a death jam, but I don't really know what that is. heh
