Hello Everyone,

It is once again time for our monthly Practical Pistol match at OFGC. Stages have not been picked out yet but I would plan on a round count somewhere between 150 to 200 rounds and at least 6 stages. Sign in will start around 9:30 with a shooters meeting starting as close to 10 as possible. The match is setup on Practiscore so please pre-register if you can. I will try to post the link to Practiscore at the bottom of this post, if for some reason it will not let me post just enter OFGC in the search box on Practiscore's website.

I hope the weather stays nice and that everyone is able to make it to our last match of 2015.

Loren

Never mind, it won't let me copy the link to the registration page from Practiscore's website.

Awesome match today guys! Really a fun match....Thank you to anyone that helped setup and run the match

I agree, nothing like an old fort match.
As much steel as there is paper & other than the classifier, Every stage was maxed out (32 rnds).
Helluva day!!!!!

I think what makes it great is that each shooting position and/or target array is essentially like a speed shoot or it's own little stage. The only thing really missing is targets to shoot on the move. Such good stage design.

I agree, some open target arrays to engage on the move would be great.

We had an awesome squad with some great shooting

Thanks for the kind words guys and thanks for everyone that came out for our last match of the year. We have had a great year of shooting USPSA at OFGC and we are hoping to take it to another level in 2016. We are actually fixing to drop about 3k just for new stand alone falling steel plates and stands for next year. Hopefully we can get these cut and built by the spring of 2016. We are hoping to have enough steel next year that we can have an all steel Pro-Am type match later in the year. At least that is one of the ideas we are kicking around at moment.

Now everyone needs to mark your calendars for March 19 & 20 of next year. This is the date for the 2016 Old Fort Shootout. We are currently already planning the stages and so far there will be a total of 10 stages. There will be 4-5 long field courses (32 rounds plus, maybe even a 40 rounder just so the open guys have to do a couple of reloads), 3-4 medium courses (16-24 rounds), 1-2 short courses (10-16 rounds), and a classifier. Plan on a lot of moving and a bunch of steel (The Irish Star, the swinging star and maybe even a swinging plate rack if we can get it finished in time). All ten stages will be shot in one day, we will be serving lunch and it is included with your match fee. Not sure what we will be serving as of yet, but hopefully I will know more in January or February. For you guys that have shot this in the past you will know that this is a two day match...sort of. What I mean is you can actually shoot this match twice. You can sign up and shoot on Saturday in one division and then shoot the same match again on Sunday but in another division. Entry fee is going to be $35 for one day or $60 for both, THAT IS A HELL OF A DEAL FOR A 10 STAGE MATCH! And as always we have already contacted the weather department and got them to schedule us for some torrential down pours just like in years past.

Everyone please let me know if you have any questions, concerns or comments about any of our upcoming matches.

Thanks to everyone who helps support our sport, I look forward to seeing everyone on the range in 2016.

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!

You should probably start a new thread with this information. I was looking for info on OFGC Shootout and accidentally found it here. I dont normally shoot at OFGC so I dont regularly read your match announcements.

If it was me, I'd post it in the major match thread. Its worthy of that.
