I live in Greenville. I am looking to sell a Kel-Tec PF-9 and a Taurus TCP in order to help fund the purchase of another pistol. Has anyone had a good experience selling to a particular gun shop? Or, does anyone have any advice on a particular gun shop that they would STAY AWAY FROM? Obviously, I am looking to get as much back for the pistols as possible. Both pistols are in excellent condition. The Kel-Tec PF-9 has the upgraded "hard chrome" slide, the "pinky" magazine base-plate (never installed), a Hogue HandALL Jr. grip sleeve, the OEM hard case and has around 300 rounds through it. The Taurus TCP has the OEM "cell-phone" holster, 4 magazines, around 200 rounds of FMJ "range" ammo and 20 rounds of CorBon DPX carry ammo. The Taurus TCP has around 250 rounds through it. Thank you, in advance, for any help.

If that's the case, stay away from gun stores. They will offer you 50 or 60% of value, or charge you a consignment percentage.

Stick to armslist or facebook groups to get the best $ out of them.

Selling/trading to a shop is a matter of convenience/peace of mind and should be done with the understanding you are paying the "I don't want to deal with people/sit on these/assume I'm not selling to a felon, thief, etc." premium. You'll get the most money selling or trading them directly, you'll make your life easy by just taking them to a shop that you feel is giving you a fair value and calling it good.

That said, I've been finding Grady's in Anderson is giving reasonable trade values at the moment, but they are prone to bouncing around on values. Sometimes their offers are good sometimes they're bordering on awful, probably based on inventory and whats moving at the moment. I've literally taken the same gun back to them a few months after an offer I felt was to low, and was offered 75 bucks more which I felt put us into fair territory.

Can't say what you might get, but here are a few places to consider.
Simpsonville Gun and Pawn, "Stan in SC" is a member here.
Dewey's out on 25 south.
Freedom on White Horse.
Upstate Armory (member) - don't know if they buy used.
Reds Pawn Shop INC. 864-295-3220. 1225 Pendleton St Greenville SC. (frequent Armslist postings, can't say I've dealt with them.)

Or call http://www.durysguns.com for a quote.

If you're worried about selling FTF, sell it on http://www.gunbroker.com where you'll have to transfer/ship it FFL to FFL. Get your FFL to quote you on shipping and fees before you post it.
