I just traded my '08 GMC Sierra Denali for a '10 F250. The GMC had that sweet Bose sound system in it from the factory. I think it had one or two sub woofers. It was all I needed in terms of a "system" in my truck. Now I jump over to this big ass work truck and the speakers suck to be quite frank. I was wondering if anybody has done any speaker upgrades to the F250's. I would like some more bass and depth of sound in general. I am hoping the factory stereo is putting out enough power to simply change some speaker and not have to add an amp or sub because I don't know where they would go. Whatcha think?

I used to install car audio for a living first thing I would do is change out the factory head unit and door speakers and see what you think, if you decide you want more lows after that add sub and amp. you would be surprised where you can tuck away a 8" sub and amp. let me know if you need some help or have anymore questions (ps you can run factory head unit with any of the above if desired)

this! :D , finally something I could help someone with if needed

It has factory Nav and that fancy Sync system so I can't switch out the Head unit. Will a speaker upgrade help? How much $ you talking here roughly?

it will help give you a much clearer hi and mid range and maybe a little more low but not much, you can run the factory unit with step downs to add a amp and sub you just wont get full power out of the amp not that big of a issue since it sounds like you are just looking to boost the bass a little and not rattle the windows out of it. the speaker can run anywhere from 50-500 a pair you just have to find the happy medium between cost-quality that will satisfy you. I haven't looked at your year truck but the speakers should be 5x7 in all 4 doors. I would put a nice set of components in the front and a decent set of coax in the back doors.

a good site to get you started I wouldn't buy from them they are a little pricey but good reference Crutchfield

Alpine head unit, replace door speakers with kicker speakers 2 10" kicker subs 1 400w kicker amp for the mids and highs 1 500w kicker amp for the subs. That's what I have in my pickup. Sounds reeeeeal good all the way to max volume. I also installed stereos and built sub boxes in high school and after for beer money.

+1. I have a component setup in front doors and coax in the rear doors. Didn't read all the posts and didn't see the factory nav/sync part. You could use a modulator and tap into 2 existing speakers and run an amp with the factory head unit to a sub or 2

I would agree with you on this if you exchange Alpine for Kenwood and Kicker for Rockford Fosgate :D :D :D

I prefer the PolkAudio door speakers, I have had many different brands of door speakers, and other than cars I had that have had factory Bose, the PolkAudio have been by far the best sounding

I have some polk SR series components I am thinking about putting in my front doors they are supposed to be the Shiz-nit

They are, I have those all around my '08 HHR. Sounds great, they are run off of my factory head unit

The factory head unit is actually pretty good.

If you're looking for subs, be a real man and get some Aurasound 12's. Kicker and Rockford Fosgate both suck compared to these. If $500 each (sans box) is a little out of your range, Peerless is still pretty dadgum good at ~$200 per driver.

The rest of the spectrum? Seas or Peerless, but you'll probably have to do some custom work.

I am old. I don't rock that hard anymore. I like it medium loud but clean. Where is the best place in the city or surrounding area to take this bad boy to get them installed.

I have a buddy that works at jackie cooper on the southside. He is a gun guy too. He could hook you up on whatever you need. They carry good brands too. JL audio, FoCal, Kenwood, Alpine. They also have good installers working there.
