Tough classifier at HH last night

That thing was a cat lady! Well at least the first string was. I about pissed my pants when my buddy Dan who almost always shoots only fast enough to get all A's ripped that M&P Pro out if his holster and fired the faster 6 shots I've ever seem out if him. He almost got all 12 off too. It was so funny because it's very uncharacteristic of Dans shooting style. That's why classifiers are crap. They aren't anything line the rest of the match and they make you do things you wouldn't do. Llike shooting too fast andas another shooter did sweep everyone and look down your barrel backwards for a squib check.

09-01 Six in Sux challenge

You shot 3 strings. 1st string was at 25 yards. draw two each to 2 shots each to 3 targets reload 2 more to each target. Most of us didn't get off more than 6. The 2nd string was easy at 10 or so yards draw two each strong hand. 3rd string was at 7 yards or something like that and you drew and 2 each weakhand. Each string had a 6 second par time.
 
Cyrwus got off all 12, even got some hits out of the second 6.
It was pretty dang fast.

He's a cheater! He does stuff to his guns to make them faster and he won't do the same stuff to my gun which is why he always beats me. at shooting.
 
I don't think the classifer is THAT bad. 6 seconds is a long time. Break down the first string:

1.2 second draw to first shot
1.2 second reload and shoot 7th shot

= 3.6 seconds to make 10 shots

.36 second split

Doable if you don't screw up the draw and/or the reload! :rolleyes: But what do I know?
 
Another problem Mike and I had was shooting strings 2/3 too fast. I shot them in like 4 seconds each.

Should have shot a bit slower and got As.
 
In hindsight I should have gone for all 12 on the first string. I shot my first 6 and stopped, and it seemed like an eternity before that buzzer went off. I then proceeded to shoot the next 2 strings too fast just like Chambers.

I dont like to even think about practicing classifiers, but that one (or a variation of it) might actually make for a good drill to help you get a sense of your personal shooting pace.

Dude! 1.2 second draw to a 25 yard target is like a 0.6 to a 3 yard target. 1.5 is fast at that distance. Same goes for reload. If you can hit 1.5 you are smoking. Simply because of the long range shot ahead of you causing a lot of aiming. Splits are probably in the .3 range for that distance. Of course this is only if you want to hit anything.

if you would have hit all A's without that 2nd group after the reload you would have had a 75%. With 30 points on each string.

If you hurried those 12 shots and the reload on the first string and shot all D's you would have only received 24 points. All A's is the way to go from my level. Screw that reload. I should have aimed harder.

I was thinking that was pretty sporty from that distance too, but would have still been curious to see the result both ways.

I wasn't talking about well-aimed A zone hits, especially shooting major where a C is almost an A.

At that speed I'd probably shoot an alpha or two, a few charlies, a delta and maybe a miss?

For the 18 shots that I did fire, I had 66 points = 3.67 points per shot. Had I fired 12 (not fumbled that effing reload) I would have been 22 points ahead for 88 points total. That would be 73% which seems about right having rushed those two other strings.

Definitely a tough classifier! You have to go from really, really fast to really, really slow for strings two and three.
