Top Shot Season 2

I thought the elimination challenge was really cool. Does anybody remember what the rifle was they used in the begining? I'm going for Ashley to take it all.

Jessie They shot a civil war rifle at the beginning

I can not stand Jay Lim. I hope he goes home soon.

Civil War Era "Sharps" I forgot the caliber. The host said it was considered the first US military sniper rifle.
I think it was a Sharps falling block similar to this one but I don't think the one they used had the double set triggers

I was happy with the elimination, didn't really like that dude.
The elim. challenge looked pretty freakin' fun too.
+1000! That guy had just a bit more attitude than is needed. And then he had to cry when he got owned by Tilley.

From the looks of it, Jermaine is going to go a long way...

Unfortunately, I only caught the last 15 minutes of Top Shot last night but that was all I needed to see what you guys are talking about. The guy who was eliminated had too much cockiness and attitude.

WOW!!! I am a complete idiot! I forgot all about the initial team captains competition until I saw the rifle picture. I did notice that only that Marine Sniper guy shot the rifle like the guys that shot with us a the Tiger Valley Sniper match. Very little input to the gun with your body. Just shoulder, cheek, and finger touching the gun. He had his off hand under the stock. I expected him to nail it but just like the geeks with the cup and saucer pistol grip somebody gets lucky.

The guy who was eliminated had too much cockiness and attitude.

Thats how he got on the show. Wait until season 4 you guys are going to be hating on my as I will be the most ruthless, cocky, SOB in the show so they can't afford to kick me off for rating sake. People love to hate the cocky and mean people.

Im getting ready to watch it since I was working last night but Im really excited to see how Brian Zins does. I didnt even know he was on the show this year. I never saw him on any of the previews.

God I hate it when they introduce AF Security Forces CPEs as "snipers". For the record they are Close Precision Engagement or CPE shooters....it's a two week course. Hard work and a noble job but not the same training, mission, or employment as snipers.

I'm sure it's not that guy's fault, the producers probably wanted to sex it up, but I'd be embarrassed being introducted as a sniper when I wasn't one.

So far rooting for Ashley (Combat Controller) and Jermaine.

Definitely rooting for Ashley, the politics of the show may get him, but its hard to say an individual that only knows competition is better than a 10 year USAF Combat Controller. Those CCTs see plenty of combat and know how to shoot under stress. I'm extremely bias toward the Air Force too, so I'm also rooting for George. He's not just a graduate of a 2 week course, he's an instructor who no doubt has combat experience as well...plus he can bench 400 lbs...who's gonna beat that?? Haha

I like Chris Tilley to take it all.

I'm not sure what to think about that guy. Out of seven shots he couldn't hit a ball with a pistol. I guess that is what happens when you don't get to bring your $3,000 custom pistol. Then I couldn't believe the excuse he gave for his performance, he said he wasn't ready, he just didn't take it seriously. He either said that or the editors did a really good job of making him look bad. I don't have a favorite, so I just thought I would pick on someone and he made himself an easy target.

One thing I find interesting is that Bass Pro is a sponsor. That is funny, maybe they should start acting like they care about selling guns and gear for those in the sport.

I think picking on chris was just too easy for them. I mean seriously when you say someone is a professional and a national champ and they shoot worse than anyone. Even Wall could make a joke about that.

Right from the start the idiot/host got it wrong. There were no cartridge loading Sharps available for the Civil War. The Sharps available were breech loading paper cartridges. As to the sharp shooters utilizing rifles during the war, it was Springfield's or Enfield rifles. The Sharps they showed and used wasn't even around until later, and its primary purpose was Buffalo shooting. Yes the one used had double triggers, and I imagine none of the shooters there used it, or even knew what it was. As to the statement about S&W revolvers, sorry but that statement belongs to Sam Colt. Looks like its going to be more of the same as the last show. Lots of grown men boohooing, and acting like they haven't passed puberty yet. Now on the next episode they are supposed to be shooting S&W .38spl revolvers, I know they won't do it, but I'd love to see them all forced to shoot double action only. Its pretty bad when my 13yr old son started asking me why all the tea-cupping, yep for some folks who are supposed to be top class shooters, something is really wrong with that picture!!
