Time to panic again?

Yes do it. I honestly wouldn't panic but buying it now if you can is better than waiting for no reason other than to wait.

well to save up money in that portion. What I meant I suppose was do you think its going to start getting bad again? I could probably go ahead and get one, but it would be coming from an emergency fund and or other funds within the budget.

I'm never going to get ammo (at a decent price), this panic things is going to go off and on until the next election.. part of me just wants to say screw it and sell all my "match guns"..

Well with this tragic shooting today in Washington it will stir sentiment up again. I don't know how they can pass more stringent laws there. Maybe cut off everyones fingers to the palm and take off their big toe on both feet and make them wear hockey masks so they can't pull a trigger. If that doesn't work they will go after your Johnson.

I think nothing is going to come of this.

When the massacre at Sandy Hook happened, I thought here we go again, but it didn't happen.

Todays events at the Naval headquarters, in a gun free building, gun free compound, and basically a gun free city, offer no fodder for the anti's to rail against.

Its the scenario that they all wish for, and guess what. It doesn't work.

How many people have to die before the anti gunners realize that their agenda isn't working?

Unfortunately, that is what the anti gunners want to see you do, even though this panic is totally the fault of gun owners.
Its picking up with more stores getting inventory, and I'm betting you will see the ammo your looking for shortly.
Have you ever considered reloading? The only thing short in that market is primers, and I've managed to pick up 5K in the last few months on trades, buys, etc at pre panic prices. Its out there.

Remember Colorado? They have started to rectify that little problem, but they did in fact jump off the cliff faster than someone could say "jump".

This deal isn't going to help that's for sure. Talked to a dealer last weekend and he said that powder started showing back up a little bit, but has since disappeared again. Primers are still unobtainium. At this point I haven't a clue when things will settle down. I know there's really no logical reason for that to be so, but that's the just feeling I'm getting. Just when we see a little light at the end of the tunnel another one of these comes along. I'm thinking as long as Obama is in office we are going to have to "free-for-all" to get stuff. Now if we get into a shooting war in Syria and the military starts procuring mass qtys of small arms stuff like they were just look the hell out.

2 things
1. Mitch-great post, couldn't agree more
2. Dennis - just started reloading but Scott is right between primers and powder it is hard to find everything. I enjoy shooting, but also have other interests (basketball, lifting, etc.), so checking websites over and over again and driving different places trying to buy a little here and there, honestly isn't worth it to me, it has sucked the fun out of shooting. Before i just ordered and shot, now it is turning into a job and the cost is starting to outweigh the "fun". I have been involved in sports my whole life and never before have i been limited due to cost/supply!

If I was a gun dealer I would want a Democratic win in each election. I would rake in the $$$ as my customers buy out my inventory.

I was H&H this morning just to pick up a teklok, and the guy working the register actually asked me if I wanted to buy a pistol while I still could...

That's a hell of an add on sale! How about a new pistol to go with your teklok?

Come on Rob what kind of pistol did you buy??? Whats the saying "it is easier to beg for forgiveness that it is to beg for permission...lol

According to the FBI interview this afternoon, the shooter used a shotgun and two pistols. No rifles were used.

Y'all better get out there and buy up all of the M2's you can find before the hoards beat you too it!

I wish, I did a lot of window shopping but all my extra cash is going towards the patio I'm putting in.

the mere existence of this post will contribute to a panic. So, well done. well done.
It was a legitimate question. The Aurora shooting shook up very little in the way of inventory buy outs. So when the sandy hook shooting happen I went about my business like usual, not thinking anything of it. Then BAM! shelves are empty and my hobby is on hold for a few months, and if not for a HUGE push back by the American people, we would have faced the first steps of total disarmament. So I think my question was founded on legitimate concerns as to whether this was going to be another shaker or just a "meh" on the scale of left wing activism. I don't want to start panics, but I have no way of knowing what these events are going to end up doing and I want to be prepared, and not miss out on chances of getting products for a good price. Sorry.
