Thunderbird Run 'n Gun, July 13, 2013 - do you have what it takes?

Knee injuries suck! don't ask how I know but I'm one of the semi-pro's about it, most of the reason my in shape is closer to pear shape lol

Is there going to be Oxygen stationed at each shooting point?

Later,

Kirk

The verdict is a torn and inflamed Meniscus. The small torn part is actually floating behind my kneecap but he expects it to come out on it's own when all of the swelling goes down. Still saying no surgery needed, but wants another xray in 3 weeks. Could be a lot worse. Hoping to do the run.

Lets hope you're all healed up come run n gun time. I hurt my knee doing the Pecos Run 'n Gun last October. It really put a damper on my running for a while after that. Running with a bum knee is no fun.

Thanks. I can't imagine running like this, but hope to start walk / running in a few weeks. After the torn part slips out thay say it's a simple outpatient procedure to cut & pull it out, which beats arthroscopic anyday. I just saw that Russel Westbrook is in CO getting surgery for the same thing. His was lateral(the bad kind)and mine was the bottom outer horizontal edge. Must be nice having no expense spared to get him back in the game!

Since I might be hobbling I started looking in to what a run rig would weigh. This is a G19, loaded with 17 +1, and two 15 rounders loaded with 115gn FMJ. Three G2 Pmags loaded with 30 rounds each of JHP 45gn, XM193 55gn, and PMC Xtac 62gn. So 90 rounds of .223/5.56, 48 rounds of 9mm, the G19, 6 mags, belt, holster and mag holsters. 7.4 lbs, much lighter than I expected.

Just took three of those tickets. I will be running as well as two friends of mine that I work with. This is going to be fun! Glad I have my VTAC Sling!

I have activated a wait list on our Eventbrite registration page. If you sign up, you get automatically notified if anybody else cancels and a spot opens up. I imagine we will have a few more cancellations before it is all over with.

FYI, for those on the wait list, we have had a couple cancellations. I show 2 spots open.

It's coming right up... if you haven't been out running, now would be a good time to start! I hope y'all have been able to find some practice ammo.

We had another few cancellations, but have now once again sold out. Did any of y'all get any of the spots? I know some OSA guys got a couple of them.

If you didn't get a ticket, feel free to get back on the wait list. We may very well have some more cancellations before it's all said and done.

Well, it is this Saturday... I hope everyone is ready!

We have recently had 4 cancellations, and so far no one on the wait list has taken the spots. Contact me if you want to sign up, or get on the wait list and I will release a ticket to you.

The T-shirts are done. They are pretty bad ass.

See you in Tecumseh!

Double dog dare ya!

$45 for a day of fitness, shooting, a meal, and a shirt? What's not to like?

Ya'll have fun.
Outstanding... I would be disappointed if the weather wasn't truly representative of an Oklahoma summer!

We still have a few more spots... better jump on em!
