Thunderbird Run 'n Gun, July 13, 2013 - do you have what it takes?

Jesse, we record the time you start and the time you cross the finish line. We take this number and subtract your wait time from all the stations to get your run time. Shoot time runs from when the "fire" command is given to when you hit the last target (or time out or run out of ammo, but that's not going to happen to you, right? ;) ) You load your rifle after the fire command and proceed with the stage. You unload and clear after you complete the stage, so that comes out of your run time rather than your shoot time. Having you load/unload on the clock encourages good weapon manipulation skills I suppose.

I'm running it lawyer style, in a suit and tie, with a Kel Tec PLR-16 and mags in my attaché case, and nickel plated .32 in my vest pocket. All liquids carried in a flask in my hip pocket. :D

I was kinda hoping I could just bring a could of drum mags and carry them both in my hands but that ain't gonna work.

What's the actual minimum round count?

I understand the "recommended" is 80 rifle, 45 pistol, but looking at the stages, it appears to be about 25 rifle and 21 pistol are required, presuming no misses.

Yeah, that is the minimum possible round count with 100% hits. Our recommended round count is just that -- a recommendation. So no bitching if you can't make your hits and run out. If you are confident in your skills, you might very well choose to carry less. I would still carry a little extra over what you're expecting to use, though, just in case some steel falls down during a stage and you have to re-shoot it, or something like that.

Thanks, that helps. I always bring double the required rounds, so I was looking at 160 and 80 based off the # of rounds recommended.

I was cleaning rain gutters today after the recent wind and hail storms dropped a ton of leaves in them and clogged up the drains, when my left foot slipped on the ladder(damn wet nikes).......and my left kneecap planted itself firmly on the rung below it with my full body weight. I'm currrently wearing am imobilizer, and they say probably no surgery needed , I'll know more when the swelling goes down and have another x-ray, but I'm mentioning it here to let those interested know that there may be another slot opening up. It's three months out and hope it's not an isssue, but if the remaing 20 slots get sold, I might have another available.

Damn, sorry to hear that. Let me know if you need a refund... we will give a full refund before June 1, and after that it is a half refund. Both are minus Paypal and Eventbrite fees.
