I believe your ability for long range shots would be seriously hampered with that round.

Wont let me cut and paste or use the quote feature, but Jesse's post re-inexpensive starter set up is almost exactly what I got. Only exception is the shotgun is an SX2 with a Nordic tube. Love watching the faces on the old (I'm 68 but old is 10 years older than whatever age I am) guys when I use it for trap.

All I have is a mossberg 500, kimber ultra carry II , and a DPMS AR
Thinkin on gettin a eaa match 9mm.
Any suggestions?

I've never shot an EAA. Matt may have a different opinion. I'd get a M&P pro or G34. Whichever grip feels better.

The EAA is an excellent firearm, however, it's like a 2011 in the fact that I have to make my bullets longer than factory to reliably run it and extra mags are $100+ once you get the extensions to stay competitive with the other guys in USPSA. I don't use it for 3-gun because of the manual safety.
Also, dealing with customer service at EAA can be quite a frustrating manner at times depending on the attitude of the person you get ahold of.

If you're wanting a great pistol for 3-gun, I would suggest the M&P 9pro 5" over the EAA.
Mags are cheaper and more available.
Parts are easier to find
theres no external safety to worry about when grounding your pistol which takes away the worry of a DQ.
You can run any factory ammo available.

I use my M&P 9 pro for 3-gun and my EAA Limited for USPSA.

this should get you started. Anything at USSA or TDSA should be pretty close for you, or check out the Arkansas section for Old Fort Gun Club. Therea another range that holds regular matches just east of the Arkansas border, but I'm going blank on the name of that range.
