very interesting, shogun! no kids yet, so I can have mine in a cabinet, but what they're doing is wrong. Cheap Chinese plastics marketed as safes--disgusting!

sorry but they dont have to be plastic to be cracked.

there are videos of one or two guys getting into the best safes in just a few minutes.

first they knock it over, so bolt them in the floor at least.

they know where the locking bars are and can defeat them. can use the links that move the bars to open them with it locked. and if they have time, use your grinder to take off the top.

its like door locks, a deterent.

I don't have the big money to have a large gun safe mounted in the house.....I use a 4'x2'x2' 1/8 thick steel construction gang box with the internal locks.....If I am going to be away for any length of time I wrap a length of 3/8 link case hardened chain around the box from end to end with hardened locks and I make sure he security system is turned on and certain neighbors alerted to watch for unusual activity.....The box is secured to the floor slab with 1/2" studs.....

It would take time and make a lot of noise to cut it open or move it........In the mean time security personnel and the LEOs would be on the way........However well plans are made, there are those that can defeat any security...That's why I am insured.....Also an idiot that decides to use a presto lite torch wouldn't survive the detonation of a few thousand rounds of ammo.

If I go on vacation and I cannot take my guns with me, I take the bolts out of the rifles and take the pistols apart with the parts coming with me in my car.
