That would be completely taking down and cleaning my XDM 40 5.25. What a nightmare. Oh...it couldn't be all that difficult I tell myself. 12 hours later it's done. Started off with my loaded chamber indicater stuck in the up position full of gunk and ended up with every possible part, spring and gizzmo coming off and going back together. Youtube videos helped. I will gladly completely clean your xdm for the sum of $1,000.00. I hope the 2011 frame I plan on shooting in the future doesn't have 100 pieces. Please say they don't.

I think 2011s have 101pieces.lol.jk.

Its always interesting tearing down a gun for the first time.

Now I can disassemble my m&p to bare frame in prolly, like...3/1000 os a sec.

LOL! Always fun to field strip a gun for the first time. It does become easier.
The Ruger .22's are a challenge to new owners, but once a person does it a couple of times, its really easy.

It has a piece a metal that sticks up from the slide. M&P is just a hole to visually check.

Well the XD's loaded chamber indicater is a thing that can get "stuck in the up position" while the M&P's is a hole.

They don't. The 2011 is just like a 1911, with a different grip. I will say that my 2011 mainspring housing is difficult to reinstall in comparison to my 1911 MSH, but I think it's because of the gigantic magwell. I think the 1911 may actually have a few more parts than the 2011 just because of the grip screw bushings, grips, and grip screws.

I have to add this for those that have sent the XDM's out for a trigger job You may not have a stiker safety lever spring to reinstall. I spent an hour on the floor looking for what I thought I lost only to watch another video from Poweder River where he all matter of factly says that they don't put this back in. Wish I had watched it an hour earlier.
