The Walking Dead TV Series

I dunno maybe it is to go with his hat and boots.
If I remember correctly he had a generic automatic in the comic.
Is that right Dirk?

The Walking Dead comic.
I read a few of them sometime in the past, they were pretty good.
I just kind of lost interest after a while don't remember why though.

I dunno, I never read the comic. I just kinda perused the synopsis of the comics to get the gist of things.

The new season starts on Oct 16. Great news too, Directv now has AMC in HD. I just got the notice this morning. Channel 254

Only trailer I've seen so far is of some dude coming from behind a tree and taking some head shots with a big rock on a couple flesheaters.

I will have to miss the first few episodes due to training conflicts. I can't remember... did AMC replay the previous week's episode on Saturday? I'll only be able to watch tv on Friday nights and all day Saturday then back to the grind. And after waiting a whole year, too, dammit! This sucks!

There's a few ways around the scheduling conflicts.. Just depends on your high speed availability.. I think a lot of the cable channels make their episodes available online after first showing. Also, HULU and other sites make it easy to use them like a TIVO. Then you also may be able to download the entire episode in AVI format, and watch on laptop, or through a USB port on a DVD player.. You might be able to D/L it on your cell phone if you have a smartphone.... Convergence isn't as far off as it seems, sometimes.

Most of last year my husband watched it on Hulu or the network channel online. It's not posted immediately, I think they waited at least 24 hours, possibly even a few days.

Rick is running, not walking: Although it appears Rick is heading for safety in the farmhouse (more on that below), notice that he is definitely on the run ? and his gun is drawn. "It's going to be intense," Robert Kirkman, who created the graphic novels on which the show is based, explains. "This world will get more dangerous. In the first season, there was a lot of time spent at that camp when they were fine. Now we've taken that away from them. ... We're really going to just expand the world a little bit. We're hitting the road, they're moving, and it's going to be a lot of cool stuff."

When advertised, I thought, "just another zombie show." But I kept hearing things about it - all positive - and I saw it got 4.9/5 on Netflix. So I watched the first season. Whoa! Now I bought season 2 on Amazon. I should have figured it would be good coming from AMC (Breaking Bad).

Frustrating about it:
1. They keep passing by dead military encampments, passing up armored vehicles and all kinds of serious artillery. Sticking with the wheel gun and 12 gauge.
2. Can't shoot the zombies because the gunshots will attract more zombies. Good reason to get a supressor, say 300BLK subsonics. Or a crossbow.
3. Is the blood splatter from smashing zombies heads with a rock not contagious?

A lot of your frustrations will be addressed in season 2. This season was great and the cliff-hanger at the end is fantastic. You will love season 2.

I keep seeing them worry about shots too and want to yell at the TV... "find some suppressed 9mm and 22's....sheeesh!"

As ReefShark says, some of your questions will be answered... and of course, just lead to more questions. I wish they didn't just run 10-13 episodes a season, but what they do run, was pretty interesting.

Luckily "Game of Thrones" started back up last night....... :-)
