why would they use a "flash" target that relies on someone calling a hit???? instead of a target that falls????
Also if Daniel hasn't admitted anything, then saying "he knew" he hadn't hit the target is not a very honorable thing to do. If he has then not owning up at the time isn't the honorable thing. The actual fault should lie on the shoot off set up manager, the target choice is just flat stupid.

The target in question the one on the left which is an MGM predator target and it is unfortunately the hardest one to see in this video. The target is supposed to fall then comes back up right away automatically which it didn't for Daniel.
I'm with Trapr the choice of targets is a big part of the problem. We need some exploding targets like Top Shot uses. Then everyone including the shooter would know.
Based on the heated discussion and the two competitors involved after the shoot off was over Daniel may have hit the target but it may have been a low hit or a hit that didn't get the target to react or fall. Both shooters watched the 3 gun nation video from the run repeatedly. I'm not sure what the competitors or 3 gun nation are going to call but the wrong call was made during the shoot off. Unfortunately at this point no matter what call gets made its bit going to be the right call because it wasn't made initially.
The show and the shoot offs are still in the infancy stages so lessons are being learned by everyone as things progress. I know the producers if the show will make the right call in the end.

Also, this show and the world of 3 gun in general needs a better fleet of RO's. If I pay $250-300 and drive for 9 hours I expect the match rules to be applied equitably across all stages. If you go to a Level III USPSA match you will get this. RO's who were on the ball could have fixed this problem then and there.

I won't argue with you there, but it's not going to happen unless the matches unify under something...and that "something" isn't going to be the USPSA unless they change their MG rules in a big way!
There is a reason Multigun Nationals never fills up.

Oh I don't mean unite under USPSA. I just mean all the RO's for the match apply the written match rules the same. I went to exactly one major 3 gun and I saw some RO's allow rifles with empty magazines to be abandoned where the match book specifically stated that this would be at least a stage DQ, other RO's required the mag be dropped before grounding. I also saw RO's giving reshoots for malfunctions. The problem was the match had rules, some RO's made up their own ignoring the match rules. After paying almost $300 and driving a few states away seeing that stuff did not make me want to return.
That's what I mean, to hell with USPSA's multigun rules, they suck.
