Just thinking about the state of current firearm sales and production. With the boom in manufacturing and increasing demand has the Ar-15 become the modern mossin. Will we see a day 70 years from now where the local gun store has a crate of ar's for 100$ each? What do you think will be a desirable modern arms that my great great grand kids will be pawning on some television show? This got me thinking as all my current guns are duty specific, they all see time and are not safe queens. Growing up my grandfather had a gun cabinet with Belgium made brownings they have never been fired and I would guess cost a pretty penny now a days vs. what he paid for them. What would you consider the working mans investment these days?

the working man's investment is ammo and a hard copy of the Constitution. 100 years from now Mexicans, chinese or somebody else will be buying crates of ARs for $80 a piece

The main reason why Mosin Nagant rifles were so inexpensive is that they were made by the million and stored in repositories for issue to conscripted civilians during times of invasion a la Operation Barbarossa.

The sad reality is that the United States mistrusts her citizenry far more than the Soviet Union did and wouldn't ever, under any circumstances, call up the average citizen to fight. (There is, of course, a distinction between males aged 18-45 being called for selective service versus 6 year olds trained with explosives to kill tanks and females being trained as urban snipers)

Nope no lightsabers or blasters.
Our civilization is failing.
We will not walk on Mars, our money is going to support give away programs.
Our descendents will wind up back in the iron age as machinery fails and there is no one to fix it.
