The Guns of Hollywood

Aren't the tanks in the movie "Patton" actually Patton tanks (M60)? I believe most of the German tanks were wrong as well. Correct models would have been Panzers, right?

I believe you are right. And none of the tanks lookes remotely like US or German tanks of WW2 vintage.

Like doing a movie about WW2 bomber guys and using boeing 707's painted green for B-17's.

M47 Pattons were used as the German tanks in Patton, Battle of the Bulge, and The Big Red One. M24 Chaffee tanks were used as Shermans or "American" tanks as well- they did get used at the end of the war. Unfortunately, most WWII tanks were used up by armies all over the world. German tanks were exceedingly rare, since most were trashed during the war. The Tiger tanks in Kelleys Heroes were actually mockups made from Russian T34/85s. They were re-used again in Saving Private Ryan and Band of Brothers. Most vehicles are usually mockups, hard to avoid as time goes by...

FYI: the word Panzer means armor(AKA tank), shortened from PanzerKampfWagen(loosely translated meaning armored assault vehicle). All German tanks had this name and then a number designation, from I to VI. the Panther and Tiger were actually the Mark V and VI respectively. I hate when movies and such refers to the German tanks as Panzer Tanks, since they are only saying tank tank.

I get what you're saying but there were tanks called "Panzer" in North Africa up to Mark 3's I believe. Then came the Tiger, King Tiger and Panther and some other oddball tanks and destroyers and SPs

Im surprised no one has mentioned the movie "wanted" with their curving bullets...lol...it makes me sad to see that...
