The best part about my wife getting a new gun

She hasn't yet. I'm just really looking forward to being able to carry that j frame!

She's going to shoot a couple on Monday while I'm on vacation. She's looking at an LC9s and the LC380. She's got some physical limitations that aren't an issue with the 380. I'm hopeful, since it's essentially the same gun, that the same will be true with the 9s.

Get the LC9s (Better Trigger) over the LC380

Yeah, there's a rumor that there will be a 380s released at SHOT. Who knows? I do agree that the trigger on the 9s is in its own league compared to the 380. The biggest reason obviously is that it's striker fired vs the hammer fired 380. That's why I hope the 9s is as easy for her to cycle as the LC380 was. She has issues with grip strength in her non dominant hand due to a bad radial/ulnar fracture. She just can't grip the top of the gun tightly enough to press against it to cycle the action on most autos. The 380 worked great for her, though. I tried both and the 9s felt like a heavier recoil spring to me than the 380.

Anyway, we're going to the range to put rounds through the 9s if she can cycle it well. Fingers crossed, because I hate the trigger on the 380 and so does she.

Well the spring wasn't too heavy for her, and she's now armed with an LC9s. I'm glad it worked out and she is too. Now to buy myself an ankle holster for that J Frame!

Not that I am a huge fan of this gun, but the Walther PK380 is the softest shooting easiest to rack 380 on the market. Most women absolutely love this gun. If it were not for the stupid safety and mag release, I would say this is the perfect ladies gun. But, if you are looking for one that she will enjoy shooting, This is the one.

Sorry, I missed the post about her already purchasing. Congrats to her.

We bought the 9s before I knew about the 9s Pro. Probably would have gotten that one. The mag disconnect is easy enough to overcome, and time will tell about how easy the safety is to operate quickly. I absolutely hate the Walther mag releases. That's about the dumbest feat of engineering since just about anything Ford listened to the Good Idea Fairy about when it comes to engines.

She's coming along to being a defensive shooter. She had to be brought to guns. It wasn't so much that she was anti-gun, but she had zero exposure to firearms before me.

On another note, my DeSantis Apache is ordered and headed my way soon!
