Well yesterday Tigerstripe and I finally made it back to the range with both of my AR's after each had changed in some way. If you've read the other threads you can see where I had to replace the hammer on the AR-10 and I replaced the buffer tube and butt stock on the AR-15 finally removing the last of the NY limitations it had when I bought it when I lived there.

The LMT ran like a top as it always had I wad very pleased with the new adjustable butt stock. The new AR-10 hammer of course worked like a champ. I was able to dial in the Primary Arms 1-6 scope a lot better and I have to admit I rather like it. On the way back I stopped by his house and took a few pics:

All in all a great day at the range, the Armalite was working again, the sun was out, the sky were blue, the leaves are coming out on the trees and the smell of gunpowder was in the air. What else can you ask for?

i had fun. it doesnt seem like it but i fired almost as many 556 as you did. almost 200.

joe was hitting pieces of clay birds on the 100 yd hill with that AR-10 like it was easy.

i switched with the buffer spring you gave me. would you believe mine is about 3/4 of an inch shorter?

it might be worn out a little, huh.

Actually I would. The original one that was in my LMT was as well and it has a lot less rounds on it than yours does. In other news, as one AR was finished... another is born.... Just could not resist the $50 price point at PSA.

Nice looking rifles. Is that tree growing with another tree fallen on it? Kind of looks like a backwards N.

thats what we called it. the N tree.

from the other side it makes an N.

trouble is i had to cut it just above the photo cause it went up another 60 ft or so and waved like a flag in the wind. when we put the pool up i didnt want to take the chance of it falling on it. it is hollow in the middle part. i also cut the pine that is on the N tree. my chainsaw broke but ill have it back soon. once it gets real hot out.

i believe about 50 vears ago, i need to count the rings, someone walked through the woods, grabbed the sappling, bent it forward breaking it and causing the rest to grow curved up.

here it is before the pool.

That LMT rifle is sweet! My dad had a LCW lower made by Lewis Machine and it's nice and smooth. I also like the SOPMOD stock. My ACS stock is an older version and doesn't have the QD swivel in the rear....wish it did and I could dump the Midwest Industries buffer tube adapter. Some 20rd mags and a shorter bipod might help you on a bench rest. Looks like you might have to sit up high to get on it. That ACOG looks familiar though :)

I am going to Philson's Friday morning when they open at 9:30 if anyone wants to go

Yup the TA-11 does look familiar. :) Which reticle does yours have?

In actuality the bipod is only in that position for the picture. It shoots fine down range and while I do have a 20rd mag I just didn't have it with me when I took the pictures so raising the bipod was the solution. It was actually Tigerstripes, I was going to stick a chunk of wood under the butt for the picture. The bipod being higher does look better I think.

Mine has the "J" reticle in red and I love it. Used a chevron reticle on the TA32 in Iraq and like the crosshairs better for centering

I'll be at the range ...probably Indian Creek around 9:30 tomorrow AM

I'm not a huge fan of the chevron either. I like that one too. Mine is an H which is the one I kind of prefer for that sort of rifle. Either way once you have an ACOG... you want more. :) If it wasn't for the price....
