Texas is preparing to give college students and professors the right to carry guns on campus. More than half the members of the Texas House have signed on as co-authors of a measure directing universities to allow concealed handguns. The Senate passed a similar bill in 2009 and is expected to do so again. Republican Gov. Rick Perry, who sometimes packs a pistol when he jogs, has said he's in favor of the idea.

Got my semi-annual dosage of Chris Matthews today. That's about all I can take of that entire network. Anyway he had the Senator that wrote this bill on his show along with some kid that is a survivor of the VT shooting, who is now a member of the Brady bunch. The brady bunch kid was totally ineffective in his argument and might as well not have even been there, and Chris Matthews was totally owned by the Senator. Matthews actually asked him if he thought it was a good idea to have kids on college campus with alcohol in their dorm carrying. The Senator explained that by law, there was no alcohol allowed on campus and Mr. Tingle-Up-My-Leg's jaw just about hit the floor. Matthews was like, "it was just not normal" for booze to be banned from college. It totally caught him off guard. It was actually quite comical and was also a epic showing of a total lack of research on Mr. Blowbal uh...I mean Mr. Hardball's part.
