Any thought of adding the tapatalk plugin? I use it to browse all forums I'm a part of with the exception of this one.

It's free.

Thanks

Tapatalk is a mobile forum app. Super easy to navigate forums. Very popular nowadays. The plugin for the forum end is free, as is the app.

By mobile I take it to mean for phones and other doodads that everyone has out there these days. Makes no difference to me, since my computer stays right where it is. However, I will gladly pass on your request to the Red Giants- OK? ;)

If I hear anything I will let you know right away!

I find this hard to understand.

EVERY other forum I am a part of, from small 100 member forums, to large 50k+ member forums, uses it.

The ads that you speak of don't pop up on the website, only on the tapatalk app.....on my end, not on yours. It will not affect the appearance of the forum on the web or anything like that, nor will it interfere with your advertisers.........

It's free. Could you give it a shot and see how you like it?

The benefit is, lots of people don't get to spend time sitting in front of a computer to browse a forum, however, they can spend the time on their phone. While using the bathroom, sitting in waiting room at the doctor, etc......offering them more opportunities to spend time on the forum.

Just my $0.02 of course.

My iPod Touch can access this forum just fine without installing Tapa Talk.

Have you ever used Tapatalk?

If so, you would abandon safari altogether for forum browsing.

We looked into the Tapatalk a while back and there are three versions. One is "free" of cost, but it shows advertisements that we have no control over. Then there is an ad free version that is $800 or so and finally another brand free version that is a couple thousand dollars.

We considered it carefully and decided it should wait because we want to take the forum to a different software altogether.
We've bee looking at vBulletin and Xenforo which is a derivative of vBulletin. Xenforo has it's own mobile app plugin.

This project is still in the works. In the past 8 months or so we've moved the forum to a different web hosting space and a newer version of PHP. For my next trick I want to move to the newest version of Apache Web server and MySQL.

I'll admit, I have an iPod touch and I've been to this forum with no problems (except I can't read anything that small in the first place.)
I'm old school with my flip phone. I've only turned texting on in my phone about a year ago.

I guess what I'm saying is we've considered mobile access in the mix with everything else concerning the forum.
We haven't forgotten about it, we just haven't done it yet.

Pops
;)

Not trying to keep kicking a dead horse, it just looks like it has been a few years and curious if tapatalk could be back on the table or if I should stop hoping.

Huh? It's been a year, and surprisingly you have only been here for 6 months! :P

However, you do bring up a forgotten issue. We shall run it by the Admins again and see if anything has changed regarding obtaining Tapatalk. ;)

Sorry I misread the first post I thought it said 2010. Yes I've been around for 6 months but I do enjoy the tapatalk app. Since if could not find anything more in the search I just thought id put the bug in the ear again. Tks. Yes I still enjoy hanging around.

That being said, they are aware of the subject again. Be patient, I am sure one of the Admins will be commenting on it after looking into it again. Just remember, they have busy lives outside of here so don't expect replies TOO fast ok? ;)
