Wouldn't know. But I'd like to try it. Just once. :)

You may be able to connect with a land-owner. That works for me, but it has more to do with luck than anything. Or you could break some rules.

IT is awesome, just never found a place to shoot it (other than the one time, i did), how would i get in contact with land owners??

I've got 20lbs right now. We were going to have a lot of fun on 4th of July last year, but we never got around to it. Maybe this year.

It is definitely fun stuff to play with. Don't try shooting it with a .45 though, not fast enough to make it explode. You'll just end up spilling what you just shot at all over the ground.

OK, maybe enlighten me here.. is there a land owners phone book that i get the numbers from or something..
I don't know, I was just ef'in with ya.

I doubt very seriously anyone is going to let a stranger come onto their land to blow elephant dung up. You're probably going to be limited to people you already know that own land.

Have you asked about it at T-bird range?

I have some friends with 80 acres that are almost completely stacked length-wise. Which I thought was retarded, until I realized that what they really have is a live-on shooting range. I'm sure they'd like to someone out there blowing things up (this is not a joke).

I have done Tannerite one time. We had two one pound bags of the stuff. I figured it would go banf, but had no idea how big the explosion would be.(honestly wasn't expecting much). We put a 1 pound bag in a 5 gallon bucket that also had a bunch of crushed pop cans, so the explosion would toss them around and look cool, ya know? Well.....When we hit it (from about 75 yards with a .308) I didn't see a single pop can go flying, but the explosion was by far the coolest thing I have ever had a part of in a long time. I go over to see what the stuff did to the cans...... The area around where the bucket had been was littered with fingernail sized pieces of can, over about a 30 foot circular area. Biggest piece I found was maybe the size of a nickel. That stuff is freaking awesome! The neighbors from about half a mile away drove over to see what we had done, lol, they said it shook their windows!

@dr.Mitch, dennis... please let me know when and where i could do this, we (my family) will clean up afterwards and are very respectful, i have some tv's, etc.. i have been hanging on to for this, which brings me to my next story....

@Mitch rapp, well the reason i want to do this again so bad is because we went out to my coworkers relatives land (which i kept warning him that it was super loud, but he keep saying it won't be a big deal)....i had bought 10 1lb canisters and mixed all 10 of them put the 1st one inside of a 25 inch tv and shot it... the biggest piece we could find was like 5 inches big... it was amazing...which of course scared his horses and then he said we couldn't shoot anymore (which was what i thought would happen) so i had to throw the other 9 lbs out...

Benjamin-If I had the time I would get in touch with some of my relatives and use their land. If you are still itching to do this in a month or so, let me know. As far as the landowner thing, it's really just a matter of contacts. Since I grew up way out in the country and a bunch of my relatives own large chunks of land, I guess I just take the availability of land for granted. I just always assumed that everyone had access to land. Anyway, let me know if you want to schedule something in late June or early July and we go blow some stuff up.

bsmith... cool if the others don't work out i will contact you, since i have no friends i have no one to call :)

At last yard Ozark 3 gun they ended each day by giving away a chance to a few lucky shooters to blow up household appliances filled with the stuff. I didn't get to see it because we were still shooting but we definately heard it.

I think some guy gave me a bag of this stuff when we did a gun trade. I need to dig it out of the garage now.

Where can you buy it from?
