Switching to a 2011

Hello, I'm currently shooting a M&P pro 5" with magwell and apex flat FSS trigger for 3gun. I've been happy with it other than the accuracy, used to have a shadow that I could shoot very nice groups with but could never get used to the feel of it. The M&P fits me great and it's been working out well but I can't help but want a little better accuracy for the 20-35yd targets either plates or paper.

Thinking about getting a custom 2011 built, I know lots of people have made the switch from M&P/Glock to 2011's, has anyone regretted it?

I have my rifle and shotgun squared away pretty good.

These Infinity pistols will get you those better groups and they will also get you a bunch of jealous haters.

I was not necessarliy impressed when I switched (outside of starry eyes for the new hotness), but my skill level was very low at the time. I don't have any regrets, but I'd like to have done things a bit differently. There are M&Ps that have shitty accuracy. You should turn your back on that and never look back. It isn't acceptable.

If your are shopping it for 3-Gun only, you will be super-pleased with a 2011 in 9mm. It will be like having a garden hose that sprays bullets, highly accurately.

I spent the better part of this year shooting a 2011 limited gun and open gun after 10+ years shooting glocks in competition. My advice is worth what you paid for it but I would say save your money and buy bullets, then PRACTICE.

They are cool and sexy, and if thats why you want to switch then go for it. In my case I found out that those guns did not make a difference in my performance. I wasnt any more accuracte. I can shoot just as fast splits with the Glock. Now if performance or making it to M/GM and stuff like that isnt your big interest and you just want to have a cool gun and have fun go for it.

There are plenty of examples of people who do very well with $500 pistols.

Stuck with the Glock 17 that I started with, switched from Limited and shooting minor to Production. Practiced with some defined goals, spent a lot more money on ammunition components, and dryfired daily with faster goal times than for the live fire practice. I don't really even give a elephant dung about the guns too much anymore. There are many good guns, and it largely comes down to reliability and then personal preference. It's really all about the shooting.

But a 2011 in 9mm is ****ing sweet.
