The old knives that had the blade spring from the end of the knife in a linear fashion was the actual switch blade, not the spring assisted knives.

A co worker of mine has one of those bokers and I'll have to say they are pretty nice for the price. the only OTF knife I owned was a benchmade infidel. They are cool but more of a novelty of anything interferes with it opening it won't fully extend.
