Switchblades WTH?

It makes no sense that I can carry a loaded gun but not an automatic knife. Is this really enforced? Don't we have any LEO's to chime in?

I'm thinking SOG Vulcan

I've had one of these for a few years now.
now I'll finally get to start carrying it.

I was told by a MSGT of the OKC PD that spring assisted knives are not switch blades if they open like a common knife.
The old knives that had the blade spring from the end of the knife in a linear fashion was the actual switch blade, not the spring assisted knives.

Don't shoot the messenger, but this is just repeated from somebody that should know.

yes those are called open assist there is a difference knives that opened with a button are switchblades or OTF and where illegal. Assisted open is legal

Well, tomorrow is the day for legal carry of automatic knives. Has everyone got their new pocket carry ready to roll?

I got mine in Thursday. Boker Kalashnikov, I bought it on a whim to try for giggles and so far I'm really impressed for $39.
I may not need the Benchmade with the quality of this knife.

A co worker of mine has one of those bokers and I'll have to say they are pretty nice for the price. I have a benchmade auto and I think the boker opens faster with more force than mine.

I need one that pokes out the end like the comb I got at the gun show when I was ten.
the only OTF knife I owned was a benchmade infidel. They are cool but more of a novelty of anything interferes with it opening it won't fully extend. My emersons with wave are faster than any auto I own anyway...
