Tony some years ago I priced out the raw material cost of an AAC-SDN-6. Using aerospace quality tube and sheet I don't remember the actual numbers but it was waaaayyyyy under $100. Granted these materials are difficult to work with and suppressors do require pretty tight tolerances but these companies already know how to make them. And yes I'm fully aware of how expensive TI and exotic stainless steels are. Real thin titanium sheet and wire can easily run well over $100 per lb. Having a background in estimating mfg. costs in aerospace I can promise you prices will come down drastically if regulation goes away so sales volume goes up exponentially. If we could buy them like Slemmo I would expect the price to be cut in half and still leave a ton of margin for the manufacturers. It's all about the volume.Wall said:Possible but again the cost of material & tooling isn't changing. Maybe the can shave a little cost by increasing the volume at each process in production. It'll be interesting to see (that's IF the HPA passes).
