Stolen

Army set a lot of us down the road to righteousness. This kid told me he was just waiting to get out of high school so he could enlist. Pretty sure he screwed that pooch. I'm just glad the pistol was recovered before something terrible happened. It's still hard to wrap my brain around it, he sure had me fooled. Now I'm second guessing my parenting skills for not recognizing the bad egg. I have let my son stay at his house when they worked tobacco together. Police told me he had drug paraphernalia, and had been in trouble before for drugs. At least my boys know I will and have made them piss in a cup.
Don't worry, the Navy will take him! Half the folks in my first squadron were there on the "jail or military" program.

Sounds like the time for a "This is why we can't have nice things." talk. I got a few of those as a kid. I started that lesson early with my son, I just hope it sticks. As parents we can really just hope for the best from our kids, cause in the end, they are just going to make a few bonehead choices. Let's face it we all have.

We just got to remember not to be harder on them than the situation truly calls for.
