Used mine today at my first ever 3 gun match in Hutch. Not a single problem all day. Even on the one slug target using a lightly loaded 7/8 oz Lee slug.

only used to put a shell on the lifter after you've loaded up with an empty chamber.
If you load shells while you have one in the chamber, you don't need to hit the button.
When you pull the trigger to fire the round, a shell is released from the tube simultaneously.

it runs fine.
He'll be doing the mods to it though, not me.

He just asked me to take it out and run the elephant dung out of it & tell him what I think.

It ran fine, no problems. I ran it with cheap low power federal bulk 7 1/2 shot.
The action is very much like a Benelli with the exception of the recoil spring being out front around the mag tube instead of behind the bolt in the stock. The loading port is really narrow & will need to be opened up. All the buttons, levers, controls etc. are the same as Benelli (location & function). No comfortech stock, but nowhere near the cost of an M2.

No, all I did was shoot it.
From what I understand, you shouldn't have to do anything to it....just add a Benelli Nova extension.
But I can't tell you for certain

I just got an M3000 this week. It was at my FFL since last weekend but couldn't pick it up until I got back from Vegas on Friday. Loving it so far. For the money it's pretty damned hard to beat. I know some folks have reported weirdness with threading on an NC mag extension but I added a +9 MXT to mine and it threaded on with no issues at all.

How would the 3000 be in comparison to the Jm pro? I too am in the market for a shotgun and have been shopping the more entry level type. Wouldn't you be into a 3000 for about what you can find a Jm pro for on gunbroker after adding the mag extension and bolt handle as well as other mods?

kinda like soft serve diarrhea vs. the soupy kind ;)

edited for the smiley to show i was mostly kidding

Well I'm still under $550 for everything so far including a +9 extension and low drag follower. Not really doing anything else at this point since the standard bolt handle is fairly large and, unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be an off the shelf replacement bolt handle for this gun yet. At least, not one I've found.

Pat Kelley did an article in shooting illustrated about the M3000 as a viable entry level shotgun for 3 gun which is why I bought one to experiment with. He did very minor mods and had run several 1000 rounds thru his with good results.

If it runs like it's Italian brother in law the Benelli M2 it will be the entry level shotgun to buy.

I'm gonna start cutting mine up tonight once I pick it up from Make Ready Pro Shop. I'll post pics and updates here and on Facebook and YouTube.

i have the 930 flannigan. and after shooting the stoeger for 300 plus rounds i told my wife that she may have to share her stoeger with me till i am able to buy my own. jesse will give his a workout and let us all know what he thinks. he is one of the best in the world with a shotgun. if anyone can find a flaw with the gun it will be him... :hunter: .
