I have a wood burning kit that has a pointed tip that I have used....Do a lot of practice on similar plastic before you attempt the real thing........I don't have any of the guns that I did to show you, but it isn't hard to do.....The only bad thing is if you mess up it is an ugly mess...........There are several articles on the internet that show the process.
Just curious, where were you wanting to add stippling?...The 17 has side grip texture and grip moulding on the front and back of the grip if I'm not mistaken.
Support hand thumb, under trigger guard for suppor hand index finger, for trigger finger and were i dont feel i have grip on firearm
i live the sight radis of the G17 but would love the ability to use G19 magz yea hack up the gun ive thought about hacking off the handle of my SUB2k to fit G19 magz
It's definitely something that is becoming more and more popular. I hate to see it, from a potential buyer POV. There are a lot of great grip options out there, but if you decide to give it a try, practice practice practice. Having said that, I have seen some pretty cool starburst patterns that look awesome!
To the original poster, why would you prefer stippling instead of the addition of a Hogue rubber grip overwrap?
I had a couple of Glocks with the A-Grip wrap-around and it was awesome.... until spending hours under the sun for qualifications and the glue liquefied and the grips started sliding around. Stippling seems like it would have the same result as doing nothing if you are sweating profusely.
only down fall of stippling i see if too much heat into chassis and resale value. I really dont want to add to the diameter of the grip, Short stubby fingers here. but am looking into the talon grip skid tape thing.
I have them on my Glock 30sf and love them. Does not add any noticeable girth or thickness to the grip and works well. I did get the rubber instead of the granulate for carry purposes.
The great thing is that they are cheap and if you do not like them they come off pretty easily from *what I have read*.
I'd give it a try before doing something permanent that voids the warranty with Glock.
