Hey Matt,
What kind of tip do you use? That looks like it was done with a singe-point tip. I've got a brass machine screw that I modified the head on with a dremel to have about 15 small points on it, but it's round and doesn't like to make straight lines. I'm stippling my G17 on friday and I want it to look semi professional like the one you did.

It's a round flat base about 1/4" wide that a hacked some checkering Into.
A fine single tip works good too, but it's harder to get a good aggressive grip from it.
