Any suggestions are basic tune ups for a STI Trojan!
What basically doesnt suit you?

Generally speaking... most "mods" people do on proven handgun "platforms" in and effort to appear "tactical" only enhance the value of one's narcisissism. I'd further offer that it will take years for any work you do to that STI to make a difference in your ability to shoot better. Operative word :shoot.

I hate buzz words, by the way.

Run about 1000 rounds through this pistol... and make them count. Any one of several trainers in the greater Oklahoma area will happily provide a venue for you to acess the changes you may need for this pistol.

Thanks for the advice!!!!! I have been shooting the heck out of it! Seems to be a great little pistol. Just tryin to see what you experienced shooters thought.

Anyone have one if these in 9mm. Trying to figure out what grain bullet they like the most.

You are new to this... bullet weight is bullet weight. Some pistols will feed one bullet weight or its particular shape better than another. Some firearms will group one bullet weight (and velocity) better than another. Bullet weight and engineering has way more bearing on terminal effects against flesh and 0 bearing on paper targets. You may see the occasional reference here to "Powerfactor" but thats a measure of competitive parity used to level the playing feild in a couple of action shooting sports.

Question.... do you shoot well enough to tell a difference? In the case of most casualy- shot handguns you won't notice a difference. We can clamp that STI in a Ransom rest and shoot it for group over a chrono... and we will know what it's mechanically capable of- nothing more or less.

Hint: avoid the word "flawless" in conjuntion with "xxx rounds shot". Every pistol - Glocks and HK's included will hiccup now and then.

If you want to milk YOUR potential as a shooter - this is the place to hang out.

I was kidding about the FLGR and shock buffs.
I've got some for sale....

Yes..... I am a relatively NEW shooter. I have been shooting IDPA for about a year (time wise) but I have only shot about 5 club matches. I have been practicing quite a bit and I have taken some lessons from Eric Fuson. Love the sport and just started reloading a couple of months ago. I have chronoed my rounds and 147gr are shooting and grouping well. I hope to classify soon and shoot some major matches.

thanks matt,
Still got a ton to learn but i am having a blast doing it. Nothing like sending bullets down range!

yea, thats a joke, right?? (please say yes)
I may not be able to detail strip a 1911 without losing the safety plunger but I know enough to know that FLGRs are the devil.
