Stainless Tumbling

I just got the double tumbler from Harbor Freight today. I bought the stainless tumble media from the company you asked about. I've got my Lemishine and Dawn Dish washing detergent. I'm going to run a load tomorrow. I ran about a hundred pieces of 45 brass in a jug with just lemishine and Dawn Detergent Wed.evening. Shook them for 5 min and let sit for 4hrs. They came out very clean and shiny. The inside of the brass was even clean. Hope the stainless media will clean and polish and clean primer pockets as advertised. I'll let y'all know when I get through. I've got some brass I picked up from my little test range that has sat out all winter. Very tarnished and dirty. Great test cases.

I just started a batch in the stainless tumbler. I'll check it at 45 min. I used 1# of brass 40 S&W, 1# of stainless media, 1/2 of .5 case of Limishine and a 1/2 teaspoon of Dawn dish detergent. In each container. I can probably run more but one site suggested using 3# total weight for each container, including container. That should be about 100 cases.
I'll keep y'all informed.

a hundred cases!!!

id be cleaning full time. if i couldnt clean 3 or 4 hundred at a time, well i dont know cause i do, with media.

Tiger, This one machine cleans 200 cases at a time. There are ones that cleans 1000-10,000 at a time. This is very inexpensive. This test for whether I want to increase the size machine I use. These were tumbled 45 min. I think it needs a bit more Dawn and a little more water. The primer holes are pretty darn clean for such a quick run. I'm happy with the results so far. I used a large magnet to pick up the stainless media so I wouldn't lose any. separated easily with large hole colander. Rinsed with hot water dried with box fan.
Tiger, some of these high volume shooters are using Harbor Freight mortar mixers to tumble thousands of cases at one time. There are in between sizes and prices. Pardon the pictures....used my phone.

The stainless pins are for tumblers only, as well. The ceramic triangles are neat but not for brass. Wonder how they would work with rock tumbling. Those rubies and sapphires would probably eat the ceramic for lunch. :D

Saw this and thought of you Tigerstripe

7000 9mm brass cleaned in my harbor freight cement mixer with 20lbs of media. Done in 45 mins and 3k of 45 brass done in a separate batch in 30mins

That was posted on another forum and I thought it would interest Tigerstripe . I'm using a small tumbler from Harbor Freight.

question is tho is what to use to make media and brass tumble. I seen people use angle, STM the barrel is flatsided. hmmm... just trying to do it on the cheap
