Good morning gentlemen. I have a TRP Operator 1/2 rail. You have to insert a pin in the guide rod to lock it back in order to break it down. It is NOT a big deal but I would prefer a normal GI type guide rod, field strip without the tool.

Should I just leave it like it is?

Any suggestions?

Dawson makes a tool less guide rod for those applications. Similar in function to current setup, but you don't need any tools. I have them in several guns and they work well and none have failed. Might be an option for you.

A GI type guide rod assembly does not work well with a bushingless barrel.
