they are magazines... there is no backstrap.......

XDM 16 round mags have a grip "x-tension" on them. That piece has a changeable backstrap (using Springfield's own terms here).

you can put extensions on a regular magazine to make a full grip for a compact and they do come in 3 sizes but this post says nothing about them having grip extensions...

These mags do not have any grip extensions.
