FWIW, I've had two springfield 1911's and neither ran out of the box. I know that most of you guys know that getting box 1911 generally means spending some money to get it running for matches, but I thought I'd chime in just in case some new guys are reading this and thinking they're going to get a race-ready pistol for $700. It's possible, but don't count on it.
