I like some heat in most of my food. Back when younger, enjoyed the brutal heat of ghost peppers, and so on, but jalapeno heat is about where I'm at now. It doesn't overwhelm the taste of the food.
Actually just ate a half dozen pickled okra that is a sweet heat recipe a buddy developed. Tons of garlic, lots of jalapeno and one slice of a ghost pepper in a sweet pickle premix. The heat comes on, and then the sweet takes over.
