If you shoot a snub nose or other compact pistol with a grooved rear site and a small blade (or less) front sight then you know it is hard to get a quick "grab" on the front sight when shooting.

I decided to do something about it on my S&W 642. I got some fluorescent orange model paint and a toothpick and painted the top of the front blade. make sure you clean it real good with alcohol to get all the oil off first. Take your time and do 2-3 thinner coats instead of one big glob of paint. let it dry between coats and you will be pleasantly surprised.

Pictures. Gun is still filthy from shooting the Heartland Carry Gun match, but you get the idea. The little bit of white along the top of the blade in the second picture is a reflection only.

For the total package... get a fine point Sharpie (marker) and blacken the little recess on the hammer side of the back sight. (or you could paint that too).

The black knocks the glare down and the front sight will "pop" in contrast with it.

I will do that. That little area you are talking about is TINY on this gun so it will have to be a real sharp Sharpie.
