Just got this responce from Harold Wright who just happens to be my State Rep from Weatherford.

Thank you for your recent email concerning your 2nd amendment rights. I have always supported the right to bear arms and will continue to support such legislation in the future. Be assured that I will do everything possible to follow up on pending legislation and continue to support state rights and decisions that would negatively represent the views of my constituents in Western Oklahoma.

I just got a response back as well, same day!

Dear Steve:

I appreciate you taking the time to email me with your concerns regarding the
current debate in Washington, DC concerning our 2nd Amendment rights following
the horrific shooting in Connecticut last month. As a father with small
children attending elementary school in Yukon, I struggled to make sense of what
happened just like everyone did. However, I too am alarmed by the current
rhetoric coming out of the White House as to what the President thinks the
solution will be and what that impact would be to our individual liberties.

As a lifelong gun owner and hunter, I can empathize with your concerns and share
the same myself. Other than the right to worship as we desire and the right to
speak our minds, there is no more specific individual liberty that our
Constitution allows us than the right to own guns without government
interference. As a concealed carry permit holder since 1995 and true believer
of an individual's God given right to own and possess firearms, you have my
promise that I will do all within my power to fight the federal government if
they dare to overstep their jurisdiction into our lives and freedoms.
My voting record, as well as my 100% lifetime voting rating by the NRA is proof
positive that I represent the beliefs of Yukon, Canadian County and Oklahoma
when it comes to our right to protect ourselves, our families and our property.

I have received many emails over the last week much like yours, and appreciate
law abiding citizens taking the time to stand up and speak out for what they
believe in and feel like their State government should do on their behalf. At
this time I do not have the ability to file legislation due to the fact we have
already passed the deadline for introduction of bills for this coming session.
However during the last two years, one of my colleagues in the House has
introduced some type of similar legislation under the name of the Oklahoma
Firearms Freedom Act. Rest assured we will have similar language this year and
I pray it gets a committee hearing and consideration. As I'm sure you are aware
last year we passed legislation allowing Open Carry in our state.
It is obvious to me more than ever that the job of Oklahoma's elected officials
is to fight off any over-reaching ideals coming out of Washington, DC.
Unfortunately the list of infringements only becomes longer and longer.

Before I close, I want you to know these are my words and my words alone. I do
not believe in having a speech writer or media specialist reply to constituents
on my behalf.

Again, I appreciate you taking the time to contact me and share your thoughts.
Without your input and encouragement, I cannot properly represent House District
43.
