Smallest 9mm handgun for 3Gun?

Looking to start a 10 year old girl next year. She is very interested in shooting sports and comes with me to some matches. WHat is available for small hands? I'm thinking striker fired would be good to learn on.

Any decent gun shop should be happy to pop in the small backstap and let her dry fire it a few times.

The 5" Pro has better sights and a better trigger than the standard model. Locally the 5" Pro runs 589 plus tax.

Get her two Taran Tactical mag extentions, a belt, holster. and mag pouches and she will be good to go.

M&P because of the removable back straps. My daughter shoots a 5" Pro, with no back straps installed. Feels better in her hands, so she says...

I've actually had that same thought...M&P without a backstrap feels pretty good. I have little girl hands too.

I think Lena Miculek shoots an M&P Pro with the backstraps removed. She's a certified badass so do what she does.

Could you do an epoxy job on a backstrapless M&P?

That would be an awesome slim frame gun.

The best way i can think of to do it would be to gut the small backstrap to make it a thin filet and then epoxy it onto the back.

Tell you what. To make it easier, cheaper, and no chance of ruining your gun. Order a small backstrap or two and sand down the sides and back to the size you want it and then send the backstrap to me and I'll stipple it no charge for you.
If things dont work out the way you want it then you're only out $5 and you can put the other backstrap back on.

not much you can do to a small backstrap to make it smaller and thinner without making it too thin to be secure. the way to go is fill it in w epoxy or bedding compound, grind it smooth and grip tape it.

There's a video on YouTube of Lena Miculek going through her gear and she does say she uses an M&P with no backstrap at all. No need for epoxy or sanding, just take off the one that comes on the gun and run it bareback. Maybe add grip tape and call it good. If the hand gets big enough add the backstrap later.
