Slug shots low and right

I was out at the range last week and my slug shots were low and right at 50 yards. To the point I had to hold at 11oclock high to get hits on the target. I was running a light modified choke out of my versamax tactical and the fiocci low recoil slugs. Should I just try other slugs or chokes or what... I'm a bit annoyed it wasn't spot on for point of aim point of impact. Any suggestions on ways to resolve this would be great.

Thanks!

PS. I hope all you folks in OK are holding up with the storms up there. We got you in our thoughts down here in FL.

Is your barrel clamp on? If so, take it off and try again. They are notorious for bending the barrel enough to throw your slugs off. Let us know...

I would send the gun or barrel back to Remington. The versa max has had serious issues with slugs shooting way off.

Thanks guys. I'll try the barrel clamp and differnet slugs and if all else fails I'll send it back to remington. The timing on this sucks as I have the task force dagger match in a little under a month. I wonder what remingtons turn-around time is

My versa max tactical shot slugs dead on the first time. But each time I take it apart to clean it has a different POI I have shot it with and without the clamp, and have moved the clamp from one end to the other. I am going to send it in after MVSA 3 gun.

Well if it was spot on when you got it and it changed after you clean it, then obviously something you are doing while cleaning (or reassembling ) is the cause. Simple process of elimination should help figure it out.

I put the versa back together again and it's back on target at 50yd. I have a prepaid label from remington to send it back after the MVSA Choate match.

I'll be curious to see how it goes.. the funny thing is when I sent mine back remington returned it with a new barrel and a test target that showed the point of aim/impact as not perfect (using birdshot at unknown distance)... not what I'd call perfect by any means.

One time I asked a semi-pro about a gun that was shooting low and right and he said "pull the trigger harder" then he said "get the f**k out of here"

I love semi-pros :)

I have heard several reports of the Versamax barrels shooting slugs a ways off the Point of Aim. Might want to contact Remington for a new barrel.

might want to try?
My VMax tactical shoots slugs accurately as long as I aim correctly and don't yank the trigger / flinch. I have the carbon arms stainless mag tube on mine so there's no barrel clamp and I'm thinking the stainless tube helps resolve the problem that Kurt identified.

Want to buy a versa max tactical with +2 extension cap, and three chokes?
If you're serious, I know a guy...
