I have a Sig Sauer P226 X-Six that I bought for target shooting. I got it just a few months ago and then started hearing about 3-Gun. Would this be a good pistol for this type of shooting?

I have only put about 150-200 rounds thru it so far.

sure, it's just not common due to lack of accessories like magwell, mag extentions, etc.

Heck yeah guy, that pistol would stick out in a crowd of polymer guns, and 2011's. Run it!

The thing I do need, and Wall has it right in this way, is a holster. I really like G-Codes line because I can see so many advantages to stick with one "system". However, they do not currently have one for this pistol and I'm still trying to figure out if that will work with a CR Speed belt or even if that's necessary.

Any gun will work for 3 gun. Some ate better than others and all have pros and cons. Come out and shoot it and then decide if its what you want long term.

Run it!
I always get excited when I see another sig at a match.
I have an X5 that I'm running in Open.
The reliability of the Sig's are unsurpassed.
Accuracy is also incredible, your X6 is probably a lazer!
There are magwells and extended base pads btw..just a lot tougher to find.
I had a custom holster made by COM holsters..hit them up,they make IMO the best 3 gun holster for the game!

Blade-Tech will custom mold holsters to any model. Even custom built 2011's.

I shoot my Sigs at 3 Gun matches, but not at IDPA anymore. At least at my local matches, the pistol targets are bit closer in 3 Gun and of course more forgiving in terms of accuracy than IDPA, ie two on paper vs the more punishing IDPA target. My Sigs are more accurate than my M&P, BUT that DA first pull in IDPA is a bear.

X5's and X6's are SAO if I remember correctly, or maybe just a select few of em. Hell i dont know, its been awhile since I've messed with a Sig.
