Anyone have any experience with the Sig 1911 XO. I am still trying to find a good first 1911 that won't break my bank and came across one of these for $525 and was wondering if it was worth it or should I stick to looking at a Rock Island or Taurus?

I checked one out a while back but didn't get to shoot it. I'm not big on the rail out in front of the trigger guard on 1911's and it seem a little bulky.

That first 1911 may cost you around $500 but the true cost is much, much more. Because like Lays potato chips, no one can get just one. You will eventually work your way up to at least one Colt 1911. You may jump right to a colt as your next 1911 or you may work your way up to it and spend a couple thousand along the way. Either way, you will have that first $500 spent and you will be lusting after that high price Pony. Your best bet is to save a little longer and get the Colt first :D

if you look on the palmetto state armory site, there is a remington 1911 for 599.

just add dot com.

they are in Columbia.

here you go, drool a little. both are 70 series. one has fired 50 rds. click on the pic and they get larger.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^i agree a 1911......very few people buy an entry level and a year later don't find them self wanting a high end model.....my 1st 1911 was a Auto-Oradnace 1911 next a Springfield .......i just orded a COLT Combat Elite 1911

Holy Diver, ....you'll love that Combat Elite so much that your thoughts will then turn to a Light weight Colt Commander for concealed carry. After that you'll rationalize to yourself that you NEED a Colt 10mm Delta Elite because you just might want to carry it around in the woods and hunt with it instead of carrying your rifle or shotgun. Its a sickness with only one cure. A stable full of ponies.

i have a Springfield v10 i use for CC its a fine pistol shoots great.i've never had a 10mm or even shot one...so i dono

I looked at the Remington on Monday, I also looked at a Taurus. I like the Taurus more than the Remington. I am leaning more and more towards the Taurus. By the way it was at PSA. I love those guys, and 5 minutes from the house. I like the weight on the Taurus more than the Remington as well. Thanks everyone for the input

PSA has some decent prices it's too bad they won't help sponsor a ShootzenFest. To quote Frost "Every penny we get from the sponsors goes to buy t-shirts and stuff. We don't keep any of it. Remember to buy from our sponsors whenever possible. Our sponsors care about the shooting community and support you ..."

the Taurus is on an alluminum frame i think
Mine is a steel frame. I got one a few years ago for my birthday (I'm so generous to me  ). I love the fact that it has a firing pin block. I'd still like to get a higher end model, but I'm not in any rush. There are too many guns I want to buy, and another 1911 isn't at the top.
