Here's my versamax with a little custom work by yours truly. I got extremely lucky and picked this gun up at Walmart when they clearenced them out a couple months ago. Its a sportsman model, $880 retail out the door for $480.

All the normal stuff, port opening with a mill, c-rum welded lifter, polished bolt, etc.. The custom part is a 1 piece 13 round magazine tube. 13 rounds because I wasn't sure on the required length for 12, and wanted to have enough remaining for the custom end cap that will follow eventually. The aluminum spacer will eventually get a honeycomb treatment for weight and aesthetics.

The handguard on the sportsman model has a slight issue with the mold. When you tighten mag tube nut it will push the bottom of the handguard, closest to the loading port, away from the receiver. Going to try and bevel the inside of the handguard where it meets the barrel ring to remedy the gap.
