Shotgun Loading Challenge

My guess is that this dri will be faster with the weakhand method for someone like West that can load as fast as anyone with both methods. Reason being is that you have to mount/dismount the gun frequently.

Im thinking The pinwheel method would be faster than weak hand method when more loading, 8+ rounds at once is done.

Once I get my no practicing tendinitis arm out on the range I'll see of that holds true for loading 12 in a row.

As soon as I get my hands on a gun capable of holding enough rounds and a timer I'm going to give this a shot.

Tried this tonight for the first time. I ran it 4 times before I ran out of shells. My best was 15.48 seconds. I have only been shooting shotguns and loading in this fashion for 2 months now. My times will get better. If I tried it a month ago my time would have been 30 seconds or more I'm sure.

Damn,
and
DAMN with the nod to the Nova.

Seems to a great drill. Hopefully the end of this week I can make it out to give it a try.

Nice loading!! That was very smooth

My only comment would be to start in port arms and get a camera view of you and the targets. Everytime I've put up a video countless people make comments about the targets or lack of targets in view. That is why I chose two cameras and a long shot of me and the targets. This is the first time no one jumped all over me about the targets, thankfully!

Nice shooting!

Keith

Tried the Load 12 Challenge tonight. Here is a video of my fastest time.
Thank you Shooters Source and Carbon Arms.

I don't know what I'm more impressed with here, the loading or the shooting...aim much? I'll try this out next time I have a chance, but I won't be posting any videos, for one, I don't have a shot timer and the other is I embarrass easily. Thanks for posting the challenge.

I gave this a try this morning. Sorry, no video. I also don't have a plate rack, so I took some of Taccom's steel on hangers and set them about 3' apart. I'm about 14 seconds for the whole thing starting at port arms.

Dont know how I forgot about this one but I did. Decided to give it a shot today and in the process peeled back what was left of my thumb nail like a skinned salmon....my goal for this drill was to get it in under 8 seconds vs the 9 Keith said. I did it once today. 7.95 but forgot to turn on the camera... :suicide: I couldnt fight thru the pain enough to get a sub 8 second run on camera today but i got a few under 9. Only posted the times that actually broke all the clays. I had a head cam on for view of the targets but it wasnt charged. so my sub 8 second run was not recorded at all...Gehy to the power of Eric Holder.

I love this drill and will use it often and get a sub 8 second run up here.

Slugs... That's why we can't shoot our plate racks with shotgun! :)

What are you shooting at and what are your first shot/shot splits? Your loads are fast but your shooting is really fast.

2 seconds is fast no matter what target your shooting! Clays are also fast. You should shoot them from the hip!!! It takes some shot to knock down a plate. So that is helping your time some but still very fast!

Plate rack isn't necessary but steel makes it so nobody can call BS on the shooting. Know what I mean?
