Ok...after asking quite a few friends that shoot three gun some limited and most open (who don't give a elephant dung about rules besides their own) I have come to the end of my rope.. I've even read the USPSA rules (well what I could decipher). What is the rule when it comes to shotgun capacity in Limited/Tac Optics per USPSA rules or what have you heard or seen ? Everything I see says 8+1 on the start but, what about after the beep ? IF I had a mag extension could I load to capacity and then engage? Some stages it would be beneficial others probably not but the option to be able to definitely makes sense.

You are correct. 9 in the gun upon start signal, then load as many as you want after the beep. All ammo must be on the belt, meaning you can't start the stage with 4 shells in your left hand,,,,, usually.
 
See that's what I thought...I shoot 3 gun matches at Memphis and they are already on me about my Otto vest...it's not against the rules but some people just don't like it. Maybe it's because it's a better wheel ? IDK....either way it's worth the 70+ for an extended tube to find out. Lol!!
 
I'm new to uspsa and don't know richard about the rules yet. I signed up for the Colorado state 3G that is under uspsa rules and I asked the same question. I was told that there could be no more than 9 rounds in the gun at any time during a COF. Can someone point me to the rule that clears this up. I'd love to be able to load to capacity after the start signal.

Aha !! Another conflicting statement...I've seen guys that have extended mag tubes in Limited/Tac Optics and some don't, maybe they have their shotgun setup for outlaw 3 gun and the RO's at the ruled match keep a close eye on them ? There's a couple of peeps on this sight that I have seen videos of, loading after the beep...
 
There was something mentioned about capacity in the 2012 USPSA Nationals topic on Enos. If I remember correctly, it was max of 8 in the tube at all times. No shell on the lifter on an empty chamber start as well.
 
Yea...the guys on enos have conflicting stories from what I've read and Pm'd.... the USPSA hasn't added an addendum but I'm sure it's coming...I just don't want to be labeled a cheater...if it's within the rules then I'm going to do it... if not then I won't...to me it's black and white...
 
Every match is different. You have to read the rules for every match. In outlaw 3 gun, the MD can make/change/modify rules to fit what they want. I typically run an extended tube that can hold 12. If it benefits me in the stage, I'll immediately load X rounds in the gun after the beep.
I've shot some matches that the tube capacity can't exceed 8 in the tube (for Tac division). For those matches, I just change tubes.

The world of 3-Gun is not black and white. Prior to every match I read all the rules and adjust my gear as necessary
 
Interesting. Didn't mean to give conflicting info. That's just the it is in the matches I've shot in. Granted I haven't shot any major matches. Take that as you will.
 
Well...I meant black and white per rule books...lol... Yea, since I've started shooting I've realized that some of the gear I have obtained will only be used every once in awhile...

No I don't mean conflicting in a bad way...just different stories... everyone that posts on here has more experience than I do so any input regardless of nature is always great... hearing stories from different matches is a plus...that way when I get good enough to travel to a match I'll know what to expect..
 
Current USPSA rules are 8 in the tube at all times, as in, put in a plug or welcome to open if you have a brainfart.
