Opened up a new box of .380 Corbon ammo. Noticed one round sticking up higher than the others.
Looking at it a little closer, the head stamp said 9mm Makarov.
One oddball bullet in the box. Called Corbon, they said they wanted everything back, and would ship me a fresh box of ammo, no charge.
First time I've ever had this happen, but I reload every other caliber except for .380.

WOW. That is weird. Glad they took care of you

I has something similar happen with Hornady and they send me 3 boxes to replace the 1

I had an issue with a 500 round box of Federal 230 grain awhile back. The primers were coming out after being shot and jamming the action on my pistol. After testing the remaining batch, they sent me 1500 back.

Well, I got a call from Corbon a bit ago. Customer service guy I talked to went to the production dept and found out they had not loaded 9mm Makarov in over a year.
Said they are investigating and will still send a new box. Told the guy that the box did not appear to have ever been opened, so don't know how it happened.

Speaking of 380. I saw Taurus makes a 380 revolver. What's the point?

.380 is the smallest center fire round that women can shoot and not feel like it hurts their hands.

Moral of the story: Even they don't think you should be shooting a .380

Not so.
This wasn't designed to be a SD or ammo comparison thread, but what the hell, lets party! :D

Y'all that think .380 isn't effective enough to carry might want to look at this link. Corbon, Federal Hydra-shock, Remington golden saber, and PMC Starfire exceed the FBI minimum penetration tests in ballistic gel. Scroll on down, and look at the 9mm tests for short barreled guns.

As far as the wrasslin part, I'd like to see a show of hands of folks that think a thug is going to come face to face with you in a fair gunfight. Ya know, high noon style.
Its going to come unexpectedly for the most part, possibly from behind, or a cheap shot from somebody just walking by. Your going to be on the ground, brain in a fog, half conscious, your fancy .45 nowhere in reach cuz the bad boy got your arm broken at this point.
What ya gonna do now?
Reach for that BUG is what your gonna do. The one on the weak side in the pocket. Yep, its that .380.

I don't disagree. Good stuff.

I don't think a 380 is INeffective, just not as EFFECTIVE as other rounds.

Your points are well taken my friend

Shoot em in the nutz. ( bad reference to another thread):D

Lets take note of a 78 year old cowboy in a political convention that dimmed the lights on a 20 something protester with a forearm shiver. Didn't put his lights out, but it did take him to the ground. Perfect example of how quick it all comes down, and you don't have to be some big ol' roid junky to make it happen.

People just don't give the .380 enough credit. In the latest 007 movie, James Bond brought down a helicopter with his PPK. Nuf said.
I never knew it was an anti aircraft caliber as well. Drones don't have a chance in hell now.

"I gots my .380 now. Don't be flyin' over my momma sunnin' in the back yard of the trailer park"
