Secession?

I wonder what percentage of residents would actually stand behind these groups? I don't think it would happen. I also wonder how much taxation residents would have to endur to compensate for all if the federal money the states would loose?

The thing is all that Federal money comes FROM the states. So in reality, the Fed would be on the losing end, financially. A lot of entitlement programs would be defunded, which would cause some bleating from the sheeple, but they could just flee to D.C. :D

The petitions may be up to 47 states, but that doesn't necessarily mean all 47 states want to secede, since anyone can start a petition, and these aren't going through the State government channels. Not saying that's a bad thing, but it does take away a percentage of perceived legitimacy.

maybe obammy should think about this. if we all seccede then he could declare bankrupsy and write off 16 trillion in debt.

57.3% of the eligible 2012 voters bothered to cast ballots in an election that was so important to the future direction of this country. I don't think they'll change their tune just for something as mundane as secession. :(

I agree . For the most part as long as the Internet works and jersey shore is on tv people are happy keeping their head in the sand. :|

I have never once watched Jersey Shore but didn't I hear the show's not being renewed? Rioting may be closer than you think!
